TCP/UDP Speed Benchmark
Core ToolOur speed test engine establishes multi-threaded socket connections to measure your true network throughput. Unlike basic speed tests that only test download speed, our benchmark measures three critical dimensions of your internet performance simultaneously.
The test works by creating a TCP connection to our nearest measurement server. For download, we transmit a 5MB payload and measure the time to fully receive it. Upload works inversely — we send a 3MB binary payload from your device. Ping is measured via round-trip time of an HTTP HEAD request, giving you latency in milliseconds.

How fast data travels from the internet to your device. 25+ Mbps is good for HD streaming; 100+ Mbps supports multiple 4K streams.
How fast data travels from your device to the internet. Critical for video calls, cloud backups, and content creation. 10+ Mbps ideal.
Round-trip time for a packet. Under 20ms is excellent for gaming; under 50ms great for video calls.
ICMP Ping Diagnostics
Ping testing is the most fundamental network diagnostic tool. When you "ping" a server, your device sends an ICMP echo request packet and waits for the echo reply. This measures the round-trip time (RTT) — the total time for data to travel to the destination and back.
High ping times can indicate network congestion, poor routing, DNS resolution delays, or physical distance from the server. Our ping tool tests against globally distributed endpoints to give you a comprehensive view of your network's responsiveness.
Understanding your ping helps diagnose issues that speed tests alone cannot reveal. A connection can have high bandwidth but terrible latency, which manifests as lag in real-time applications.
If ping is high, switch to wired Ethernet, change DNS to 1.1.1.1, or connect to the 5GHz band.
DNS Lookup Tool
Every time you visit a website, your device performs a DNS query to translate the domain name into an IP address. Slow DNS resolution significantly impacts browsing, even with fast internet.
We recommend switching from your ISP's default DNS to faster alternatives like Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), Google (8.8.8.8), or Quad9 (9.9.9.9) for improved speed and privacy. DNS over HTTPS encrypts your queries, preventing ISP snooping.
Public IP Detection
Your public IP address is your digital identity. It reveals your approximate location, ISP, and can be used to track online activity. Understanding your IP is the first step toward better security.
We detect your public IP, identify your ISP, and check for VPN or proxy usage. This verifies your VPN is actually routing traffic correctly — DNS leaks can expose your real IP even through a VPN.
Why Network Diagnostics Matter
In the modern connected world, network performance directly impacts productivity, entertainment, and communication. Traditional speed tests only measure raw throughput. But real-world performance depends on latency, jitter, packet loss, DNS resolution, and connection stability.
Whether troubleshooting a slow connection, evaluating a new ISP, or optimizing a gaming setup, these tools provide the data you need. Every test runs entirely in your browser — no downloads, plugins, or accounts required.
TCP vs UDP
TCP guarantees delivery — every packet is acknowledged. Perfect for web browsing, file downloads, and email. UDP trades reliability for speed — ideal for streaming, gaming, and VoIP where a dropped packet beats a delayed one.
A network performing well on TCP might deliver poor UDP performance and vice versa. This is why we encourage using multiple diagnostic tools together for comprehensive assessment.
